There’s growing optimism that Ben Simmons can make his season debut for the Nets as early as Game 3 in Brooklyn’s series with the Celtics, Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report hears. Simmons has yet to play for his new team since the Sixers traded him to the Nets, though he has been seen sitting on the bench during numerous Brooklyn games.
Simmons has yet to participate in 5-on-5 action or even 3-on-3 work, only partaking in individual drills with the team because of a back injury. The former No. 1 overall pick has reportedly been pain-free for about a week, so he could ramp up as early as this coming week.
