Bradley Beal has not requested a trade from the Wizards and GM Tommy Sheppard indicated to FortyEightMinutes and other Washington media on Wednesday that he has received no indication that the shooting guard will do so.
Sheppard explained that he remains in close contact with Beal just as he always has.
“The process of communication with Bradley is the same as it’s always been…the outside noise is just noise,” Sheppard said.
Sources told FortyEightMinutes over the weekend that Beal and the franchise remained aligned and the front office was preparing for the offseason as if Beal would remain on the roster.
More NBA Trade Rumors
- The Hawks continue to listen to trade offers for Cam Reddish, as Chris Kirschner of The Athletic relays. The market for the former Duke Blue Devil is unclear, though Kirschner speculates that Atlanta could package Reddish with the No. 20 overall pick in an attempt to move up in the draft. The franchise’s willingness to move on from the former No. 10 overall pick comes as no surprise since the organization was fielding offers for Reddish at the 2021 trade deadline.
- There’s a sense around the league that the Thunder will trade Kemba Walker before training camp begins, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report. That assumes that rival teams will sign-off on Walker’s health, as the point guard’s left knee has been problematic for him over the past few years. OKC is looking for future assets in exchange for the former Celtic and Hornet.
- The Mavericks have looked into the possibility of trading shooting guard Josh Richardson ahead of Thursday’s NBA Draft, Fischer adds in a full-length piece. Richardson arrived in Dallas last offseason in the trade that brought Seth Curry to Philadelphia.
- The Timberwolves have made Jarrett Culver available in trade talks and it’s possible could be had for a second-round pick, according to Darren Wolfson of Skor North. Culver was the No. 6 overall pick in 2019, and Wolfson notes that while Culver is a hard worker, but just hasn’t worked with the Timberwolves.
