Does Marvin Bagley want out of Sacramento? His father began the new year by taking to Twitter, asking the organization to trade his son during a game in which Bagley didn’t play into the fourth quarter.
Jason Jones of The Athletic recently reported that there had been a simmering feud between the former No. 2 overall pick and Kings organization, something that began with a clash between Bagley and former coach Dave Joerger (fired after Bagley’s rookie year).
Bagley didn’t speak to the media after Saturday’s contest where his father asked nicely for his son to be traded (Mr. Bagley did say please). On Sunday, the big man spoke to reporters, though began his zoom call by saying he wouldn’t discuss the issue.
“Before we start, I just want to say that if there are no questions about the game tomorrow or what we’re going to do tomorrow, please don’t ask, I don’t want to give any extra information on nothing,” Bagley said (via James Ham of NBC Sports California). “If you don’t have any questions about the team and tomorrow’s game, then hold off.”
More NBA Trade Rumors
- James Harden‘s absence from the Rockets game over the weekend was not related to any trade discussions, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com explains. Harden injured his ankle on Thursday against the Nuggets and is questionable to play in Monday’s contest vs. Dallas.
- Harden recently placed the Trail Blazers on his list of preferred destinations. CJ McCollum was recently asked about Harden adding Portland to his list. “What am I supposed to think?” the shooting guard said, (via Jason Quick of The Athletic). “I play the same position as James. If there is a trade for James, who is going to be in the trade?”
- In the same piece, Quick notes that Portland’s front office doesn’t intend to trade McCollum.
- The Bucks are out on Harden, as we recently passed along. “Culture fit” was among the reasons that Milwaukee is passing on the former MVP.
- Brian Windhorst recently floated the idea that the Cavaliers could be in the running for Harden. “You might laugh but I think Cavs could get Harden,” Windhorst said on The Lowe Post. “How will they ever get a player like Harden to come to Cleveland?” Seems very unlikely.
