There are rumors that the Nets are open to trading Spencer Dinwiddie as they look for upgrades and according to Ian Begley of SNY, the Pistons are one of the teams with interest in the combo guard.
Dinwiddie is currently out for the season with a partially torn ACL and he has a player option on his deal worth $12.3 million for next season. It’s likely that Detroit (or any team that trades for him) will want to work with his camp on an extension rather than risk losing him for nothing in free agency.
The Pistons traded away Derrick Rose earlier this year and they’re on the lookout for a Blake Griffin deal. The team’s reshuffling in some sense, though Dinwiddie, who is just 27, would be on the same timeline as Jerami Grant, who will turn 27 in March.
