The postponed game between the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center originally scheduled for Monday will be made up Tuesday afternoon, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The game was originally scheduled for Monday evening but delayed because of safety concerns, centered on rioting/protesting in downtown Minneapolis.
ESPN reported the game will be played at 4 p.m. EST/3 p.m. CST.
The unrest followed a police shooting of Daunte Wright, and the NBA released a statement regarding the postponement that followed.
“The National Basketball Association announced today that in light of the tragic events in the Minneapolis area yesterday, tonight’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center has been postponed,” the statement read. “The decision to postpone was made by the NBA after consultation with the Timberwolves organization and local and state officials.”
The Nets (36-17) own the second-best record in the Eastern Conference; the Timberwolves (14-40) have the league’s worst record.
