The Nets have signed free agent guard Elie Okobo and small forward Kaiser Gates, the team announced in a release.
Okobo is 6-foot-3 and spent his first two NBA seasons with the Suns, compiling averages of 4.8 points and 2.2 assists. The Suns released him last month, shortly before his salary was to become guaranteed for the season.
A native of France, Okobo was selected by the Suns with the first pick of the second round (No. 31 overall) in 2018.
Gates is 6-7 and spent last season with the Maine Red Claws of the G League, compiling averages of 12.2 points and 7.3 rebounds in 36 games. The Xavier product has also spent time with the Windy City Bulls — and was a member of the USA men’s basketball AmeriCup Qualifying team last month.
The Nets’ training camp roster now stands at 20.
