The Spurs rarely make an in-season trade, though that could change this season. San Antonio’s veterans are garnering interest around the league and the team is at least listening to offers, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay, Patty Mills, and Trey Lyles—each of whom is on an expiring deal—are among the Spurs’ players rival clubs are asking about.
San Antonio is in the midst of the playoff race in the Western Conference but the franchise clearly has a ceiling and they could make a move with the long-term in mind.
More NBA Trade Rumors
- The Timberwolves have interest in John Collins, Shams adds in the same piece. Minnesota is in the market for a serious upgrade at the four and they’ve had talks with Magic about Aaron Gordon.
- The Celtics are targeting Nikola Vucevic and Jerami Grant as they search the market for upgrades. Detroit is expected to be a seller at the trade deadline, so it’s feasible that Grant could be had. Vucevic is another story, as Orlando is unlikely to part with their All-Star big.
- ICYMI: The Knicks are considered the frontrunner for Andre Drummond, as our own Sam Amico relayed. Other teams, such as the Bulls, remain in the mix, however.
