Chicago Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen will miss two-to-four weeks after suffering a right shoulder sprain Friday vs. Orlando, the team announced.
An MRI revealed the extent of the injury.
Markkanen, 23, is 7-foot-0 and is off to the best start of his career, averaging 19.1 points and 6.1 rebounds in 14 appearances.
He will be a restricted free agent this offseason, as the Bulls opted not to offer him a contract extension. He has also been the subject of some trade speculation, though the Bulls do not seem to have any serious intentions of moving him.
The Bulls (9-13) have lost five of seven heading into Monday’s home game vs. the Washington Wizards.
