Lonzo Ball has been rumored to go many places over these past few months, as the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors were among the several teams all reportedly interested in the New Orleans Pelicans guard.
However, Ball seems content right where he is, according to Andrew Lopez of ESPN.
“That’s a conversation between me and my agent moving forward. But obviously I would love to be back,” Ball said. “I built a bond here with the coaches and the teammates who are here. I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back at all.”
Ball shared some nice sentiments about the team he just finished his second season with, which of course included his rising superstar of a teammate.
“He’s a one-of-a-kind player as well,” Ball said of Zion Williamson. “I’ve never played with somebody like that. Like I said, I think we have the pieces. We just have to put it together. We’re a young team. We’re only going to get better. If we can keep it together, that’d be great. But I can’t tell the future. I’ll just wait for the call and see what happens.”
The Pelicans can match any offer that Ball receives from another team since he’ll be a restricted free agent, and if they match, a trio of Williamson, Ball and Brandon Ingram can wreak havoc in the Western Conference for years to come.
