Lakers star LeBron James re-aggravated his right ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Raptors and will return to the sideline for at least Monday’s game vs. the Nuggets, according to multiple reports.
James, 36, had just returned from the high ankle sprain Friday in a loss to the Kings. Overall, the Lakers have lost six of seven and sit in seventh place in the Western Conference.
“I know getting back to 100% is impossible. I’ll never get back to 100% in my career,” James told reporters after Friday’s game. “But I felt comfortable where I knew I could get on the floor and help my team win.”
Per Shams Charania of Stadium, James’ status for Thursday’s game vs. the Clippers is “uncertain” at this time.
James is averaging 25.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.8 assists on the season, having already missed a career-high 21 games.
