After last game’s loss to the Denver Nuggets the Lakers were immediately able to get themselves back in the win column. The Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 122-114. The team has now improved to a 22-7 record on the season. They now sit in second place in the NBA’s Western Conference Standings. 1.5 games behind the first-place Utah Jazz. Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach offers some perspective on the Lakers mindset moving forward. Especially because they will be without one of their Superstars, Anthony Davis until the All-Star break.
“We’re going to attack this stretch of games and be confident in what we have on this roster, embrace the challenge of playing without A.D. Every guy has got to step up,” coach Frank Vogel said.
LeBron James led the charge and set the tone for his team , finishing with 30 points, 13 points, and 7 assists. When LeBron is cooking like this the Lakers are hard to beat. He put his imprint on the game, controlled the tempo, and led the Lakers to victory. Dennis Schroder scored 24 points for the Lakers as well. Montrezl Harrell chipped in with 17 big points off of the bench. The Lakers have now started a brand new winning streak. They look to keep it going their next game against the up-and-coming Brooklyn Nets in L.A. at Staples on Thursday, 2/18.
