The Lakers have now improved to 18-6 through 24 games this season. The Pistons gave the Lakers all that they can handle. However, the Lakers having that Championship Pedigree was able to execute down the stretch and win in Double Overtime. LeBron James scored 8 of his 33 points in the second OT. Anthony Davis scored 30 points and looked back to his usual, dominant self. The Lakers once held a 17 point in this game and relinquished it. However, because James is a flat-out Superstar he was able to make big plays in Overtime to hold this Pistons off. James joked about how it feels to play a Double OT game at this point in his career.

“I was just ready to go,” James said. “I’m 36 years old, and … my heart is not sustainable for two overtimes at this point in my career. I’ve got a bottle of wine at home ready to be opened, and I delayed it for two overtime periods.”

Frank Vogel spoke about how he was proud of his guys. Also, about how you can never underestimate any team in the NBA.
“Give them credit,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “They kept playing hard, and they got hot from behind the arc. We didn’t do things well enough, and they were able to get back in the game.”
