Lonzo Ball will be a restricted free agent this offseason, giving the New Orleans Pelicans the opportunity to match any contract that comes his way.
However, if his father LaVar has his way, Lonzo’s future won’t be in New Orleans.
“I don’t know what they’re gonna do, but I hope he gets traded,” Ball said. “I don’t like watching him play like he plays. … He can’t stand New Orleans, come on man.”
Ball has recently been linked in trade rumors with several teams including the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors.
The 6-foot-6 guard came over from the Los Angeles Lakers in the Anthony Davis trade back in June 2019. In his short time in The Big Easy, Ball has significantly improved his 3-point shooting.
