Zion Williamson hasn’t yet played for the Pelicans this season because of a foot injury. However, it appears the former No. 1 overall pick could be getting closer to a return.
Williamson had been rehabbing in Portland, Oregon, though according to Bally Sports’ Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, the forward is back at the Pelicans facility.
The Pelicans are on the road during the next two games (Denver, Memphis) and Williamson won’t travel with the club at this time.
New Orleans was struggling earlier in the season, though the arrival of CJ McCollum at the trade deadline brought some hope. The Pelicans are 4-0 since the All-Star break with wins over the Suns, Lakers, Kings, and Jazz.
The Pelicans are currently 27-36 on the season and FiveThirtyEight gives them a 35% chance to make the postseason and a 1.0% chance to make the NBA Finals. Oddsmakers have the team’s championships odds at +25000 (250-1).
