The Lakers’ uneven season continues and after their latest loss (Philly won 105-87), Russell Westbrook was asked about what could be holding the team back.
“I don’t know. I don’t have that answer. I don’t have that answer. Honestly, we don’t have all our players. That’s number one,” Westbrook told the media in Philadelphia.
“It doesn’t mean we’re always gonna figure it out. It happens when you try to figure it out on the fly, sometimes it’s not how you want it to be. And then for a couple games, you try figure it out on the fly with somebody out or somebody in. And then next thing you know, you have to change your lineup again. And you have to figure that out as well. So, that is the nature of our season this far. And that’s why I keep saying you have to figure it out. Doesn’t mean that it actually happens. Just means that throughout the game, maybe before games, whenever that may happen, you have the next man up mentality.”
Los Angeles was without LeBron James in Philadelphia on Thursday night, just one game after getting Anthony Davis back in the lineup.
“Gotta figure it out. Can’t really do much,” the former Wizard continued. “Most importantly, you just hope Bron [LeBron James] is okay. And hope it’s not too long. That’s the most important part, is his health. The basketball side you’ve just gotta, kind of, figure it out. Not really much you can say or do about it.
