There’s been some chatter about Kyrie Irving trades with some speculating that the Sixers and Nets would each be better off if they swapped Ben Simmons for the Brooklyn point guard.
Yet, FS1’s Nick Wright hears that if the Nets trade Irving, the points guard will retire from the NBA. Wright didn’t mention the Sixers in particular but rather if Irving gets traded in general.
Such a trade between Philadelphia and Brooklyn is unlikely for multiple reasons even without factoring in Irving’s preferences. However, Irving would be an ideal fit to partner with Joel Embiid from both an on-court standpoint and as far as garnering Daryl Morey & Co. what they are looking for in a Simmons trade: another All-Star.
