Kyrie Irving has missed the past week for personal reasons with rumors circulating that it was in connection to the storming of the capital in Washington. Irving missed three games so far, starting with a nationally televised game against the Sixers where many, including coach Steve Nash, were blind-sided by Irving’s absence.

Irving, who has already been ruled out of Tuesday’s game, may have to miss even more time after a video surfaced of him attending a large gathering for his sister’s birthday.
The video shows a large group of people celebrating Asia Irving’s birthday inside a restaurant and the Nets’ point guard with them without a mask. NBA players are not permitted to go inside restaurants to eat this season under the health and safety protocols. Players are also not allowed to be a part of gatherings of more than 15 people.
It’s likely that Irving will have to quarantine once he decides to return to work so those hoping to see the former No. 1 pick on the court again will have to wait even longer.
