Delon Wright was one of the most-mentioned names on the rumor mill and it appears that the Detroit Pistons shooting guard has indeed found a new home.
Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Wright has been traded to the Sacramento Kings for point guard Cory Joseph and two second-round picks.
The Pistons are receiving the Kings’ 2021 second-rounder (via the Los Angeles Lakers) and 2024 second-rounder, Woj added.
“All I’ll say is that I really, really enjoy coaching Cory, and his spirit, his professionalism has been great to coach and great for this group,” Kings coach Luke Walton told reporters, via Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee. “He is a pleasure to coach and I’ll leave it at that.”
Wright, 28, is averaging 10.5 points, 5.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds on the season. He is shooting 46 percent from the field overall and 36 percent on 3-pointers.
Joseph, 29, is 6-3 and has compiled 6.7 points and 2.4 assists in 43 appearances with the Kings.
Wright immediately gives Sacramento another perimeter threat and underrated veteran presence. He is making $9 million this season and is due about $8.5 million next.
Joseph is also on the books for both this season and 2021-22, making $12.6 million in each.
