Many wondered if Kevin Love would be on the Cavaliers’ roster at the beginning of this season.
However, he’s now thriving in his newfound role off the bench, averaging 12.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
“We’ve asked him to sacrifice a lot,” Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said about Love . “He’s a helluva a basketball player. I believe he’s a first-ballot Hall of Fame basketball player.”
The Cavs are 19-12, good for third in the East. They’ve arguably been the league’s biggest surprise, led by Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.
Love’s leadership is a big reason why the Cavaliers are finding the success they’re currently seeing.
“The fact that he’s accepted that role and accepted just the fact of trying to help this team win, when you do things like that, I honestly believe that when you put out that positive energy, it’s going to come back to you,” Bickerstaff said. “I think that’s what we’re seeing with Kevin Love.”
