The Atlanta Hawks have been resilient all season. Sunday evening was no different. In a game 7 on the road in Philadelphia the Hawks got it done over the Sixers. The Hawks defeated the Sixers 103-96 and have punched their ticket to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Well deserved for a young and hungry Atlanta Hawks team.

Kevin Huerter stepped up huge and led the way for the Hawks. He scored 27 points on 10 of 18 shooting. He also grabbed 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Huerter and the Hawks were not backing down and their attitude and play showed it. Huerter spoke on this to the media.
“This team is special, man,” Huerter said. “Everybody has counted us out all year. For us to make it this far and win in this building in Game 7, it’s huge for us.”

Trae Young did not have the best shooting night by any means. He shot only 5-of-23 from the field. However, he made big plays and big shots when it counted the most. He scored 23 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out 10 assists.
What is to be admired about Trae’s performance is that he did not let his poor shooting night rattle him. He made contributions in other areas as well as scoring. Huerter spoke on how he remained mentally locked in despite his shot not falling as consistently as usual.

“I knew I had to find a way,” Young said. “My shot was off. My right hand and shoulder were giving out. But my teammates showed up and made plays. I wanted to come through in the end and help them out.”
This was a big time series win for the Atlanta Hawks. They will now face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Game 1 is Wednesday, 6/23 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Gametime is at 8:30pm Eastern.
