J.J. Redick underwent a non-surgical procedure to help alleviate inflammation and soreness in his right heel, according to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Redick is having a down year to his standards, as he is averaging just 8.7 points per game on an uncharacteristic 36.4 percent shooting from 3-point range.
However, there have been recent rumblings that Redick wants to return to the Northeast, with the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks all being interested teams.
Redick owns a place in Brooklyn, so his interest in playing there shouldn’t come as much as a surprise.
Redick recently played for the Sixers, and given Philadelphia’s need for 3-point shooting, this is a guy they should be looking into. Having Redick camping around the 3-point line will give Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons a very solid option to kick out to if they’re being double-teamed inside the paint, or make defenses think twice about leaving Redick open out there, which will open up the paint.
