The Miami Heat have now improved to 2-1 on the season. They defeated their in-state rival Orlando Magic 107-90.
The Heat was clicking on all cylinders inside of the FTX Arena on Monday night, getting to the basket at will. They were also knocking down mid-range jumpers and three-pointers all night. When it’s your night it’s your night. The catalyst for the big explosion for the Heat was Jimmy Butler.
“Jimmy is an elite scorer. He’s also an elite playmaker and he’s an elite defender,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “He can do a lot of different things.”
Jimmy Butler was truly Mr. Do It All against the Orlando Magic. He scored 36 points on 15-of-21 shooting from the field. Jimmy also grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists. On the defensive end, he recorded five steals. He got steals that led to fastbreaks and that really broke the game open for Miami. Jimmy downplayed his performance as usual. However, everyone can see that he put on an absolute show.
“I shot the same shots. They just happened to go in tonight,” Butler said. “Let my defense lead to my offense.”
