The Hornets and Terry Rozier have agreed to a four-year, $97 million max contract extension, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
This new extension will now kick in at the beginning of the 2022-23 season, as Rozier will bypass an opportunity to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
Rozier averaged a career-high 20.4 points per game last season on 45 percent shooting from the floor to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
Rozier should continue to be an excellent fit next to LaMelo Ball, as Rozier shot 43.3 percent on catch-and-shoot opportunities on 3-pointers last season.
In addition to Rozier’s on-court play, the Hornets prioritized extending him because of his culture-setting, Jordan Schultz of ESPN relays.
