As expected, the Grizzlies have waived Marko Guduric, announcing the guard’s release in a series of moves on Tuesday.
Along with the Guduric transaction, the Grizzlies waived shooting guard Jahlil Tripp and signed shooting guard Zhaire Smith and forward Bennie Boatright.
Guduric, 25, appeared in 44 games with Memphis last season and averaged 3.9 points. His contract is for $2.75 million this season and fully guaranteed. So his salary will still count toward the cap.
Meanwhile, Tripp was on a training camp deal and is likely headed for the Memphis Hustle of the G League. He went undrafted out of Pacific.
Smith, 21, was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 16 overall pick in 2018. He has appeared in just 13 NBA games, mostly being limited by health issues.
Boatright missed all of last season with knee issue after being assigned to the Hustle.
