The Golden State Warriors are signing guard Gary Payton II to a 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Payton, 28, is 6-foot-3 and coming off a solid showing in the G League bubble, averaging 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds, shooting 55% in 13 games as a member of Raptors 905. He even played some small forward.
The son of Hall of Famer Gary Payton, Payton II has spent time in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards, averaging 3.9 points in 29 games with the Wizards in 2019-20. The Warriors’ roister now stands at the league-minimum of 14 players.
