Free agent center Festus Ezeli is joining the Westchester Knicks of the G League, as relayed by Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Ezeli was claimed by the Knicks from the G League free agent pool, as league begins its final week of the regular season. As Stein noted, Ezeli was a member of the Golden State Warriors’ 2015 championship team.
He has been inside the G League bubble in Orlando awaiting an opportunity to play and is expected to be available immediately.
Ezeli was the 30th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He spent the 2016-17 season with the Portland Trail Blazers, though he never appeared in a game following knee surgery.
“I’ve put so much into this process, but this is my dream,” Ezeli told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Chasing your dreams is worth every inch of the cost.”
Ezeli, 31, is 6-foot-11 and carries NBA career averages of 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds.
