The Bulls will be without Zach LaVine for several games as the shooting guard enters the league’s health and safety protocols. LaVine could miss upwards of 14 days, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania relays.
Chicago had to call off Thursday’s practice because of the protocols and it’s unclear if anyone else on the roster will have to miss time as well.
The Bulls have lost four straight games and while they remain in the race for the play-in tournament (currently in the No. 10 spot at 22-32), it’ll be difficult to maintain position without their All-Star guard over the next two weeks.
More from the Eastern Conference
- The Knicks have no plans to re-sign John Henson, whose 10-day contract expired this week, Marc Berman of The New York Post reports. Henson hurt his calf during the 10 days and didn’t get a chance to suit up for New York.
- Tobias Harris is listed as questionable for the Sixers contest against the Clippers on Friday. The forward is nursing a sore knee, something that caused him to sit on the bench down the stretch in Wednesday’s win over the Nets.
- Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau believes the NBA’s play-in tournament has a chance to be good for the league. “I think we have to let it play out first and then assess it again,” Thibodeau said (via Steve Popper of Newsday). “But I think a lot of a lot of teams being involved in important games, I think that that’s good for the league. I think you’re always concerned about that. And so let’s see we’ll how it plays out but the initial thought of it I think is very good.”
