The Phoenix Suns returned home to Phoenix Suns Arena and they came to play, dismantling the Los Angeles Lakers, 115-85. The Suns now have taken a 3-2 lead in their best of seven series.
Early on Devin Booker was absolutely on fire. He scored 30 points on 13 of 23 shooting from the fields. He also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. Booker is showing no fear against the defending Champs and it is rubbing off on his team.
“There’s nobody that’s scared of the moment,” Suns guard Booker said. “We’re a confident team.”
LeBron James scored 24 points on the night. However, he did not have anywhere near his best game by his standards. The Lakers did not play well as a whole. James voiced his displeasure with his team’s effort and his own.
“We got our ass kicked. It is that simple,” James said after losing consecutive first-round games for the first time in his 15-year career. “They did whatever they wanted to win this game.”
Other Suns players stepped up big in order to help the Suns earn a 30 point blowout victory.
- Miles Bridges 13 points and 6 rebounds
- Chris Paul scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and 6 assists
- Cam Payne scored 16 points and 4 rebounds
Game 6 of this series is Thursday, 6/3 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. Tip-off is at 10:30 pm Eastern/ 7:30 pm Eastern.
