The Los Angeles Clippers are discussing a 10-day contract with veteran free agent center DeMarcus Cousins, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Woj added that the sides have yet to put a final stamp on the deal and no decision is expected until next week. Cousins was waived by the Houston Rockets in late February despite a fairly decent showing.
Cousins, 30, hasn’t been the same since two major leg injuries. Still, the Rockets praised his professionalism and he managed to average 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 20.2 minutes per game.
He was selected No. 5 overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2010 NBA Draft, and also spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors.
The Clippers (32-17) are coming off an upset home loss to the Orlando Magic. They currently sit in third place in the Western Conference.
