The Boston Celtics have finalized a trade to acquire Evan Fournier from the Orlando Magic, according to multiple reports, including Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The deal is said to include two second-round picks going Orlando’s way.
“Great pickup for Boston,” a source told Jeff Goodman of Stadium. “He can come in off the bench and get buckets. Good defensively, great team guy. Can be a black hole sometimes, but won’t be the case in Boston cause he isn’t the guy.”
The New York Knicks were in on the sharpshooting Frenchmen recently, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.
Fournier would come in and give Boston some much-needed 3-point shooting to complement Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, as both players have a tendency to drive the ball to the basket.
Fournier is putting up a career-high 19.7 points per game and is shooting it at a near 39 percent clip from 3-point range.
