The Sixers and Danny Green have been in contact multiple times since free agency began, though Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer hears that the two sides are nowhere close to a deal that would bring the veteran back to Philadelphia.
Other teams have been in contact with Green’s representatives as well, including the Bucks, Celtics, Bulls, and Pelicans.
Green, who arrived in Philadelphia via the Al Horford trade last fall, was forced to miss most of the Sixers’ playoff series against the Hawks because of a calf injury. Still, he remained a vocal leader for the club until the very end of the team’s season and has since been one of the more outspoken players in support of Ben Simmons (sources recently told FortyEightMinutes that Simmons may remain on the roster through at least the beginning of the 2021-22 season).
Green, who shot 40.5% from behind the arc during his lone season in Philadelphia, has won titles has helped three franchises bring home titles (Spurs in 2014; Raptors in 2019; Lakers in 2020).
