It appears to be another mostly lost season for Cavaliers guard/forward Dylan Windler, who underwent surgery on his left knee to address “ongoing patella tendinopathy concerns,” the team announced.
Windler missed all of his rookie season with a leg injury, and while the Cavs didn’t officially rule him out for the rest of this year, it doesn’t look real promising. The final regular-season game is slated for May 16.
Windler, 24, is 6-foot-6 and was selected by the Cavs with the No. 27 pick in the 2019 draft. He is averaging 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 31 appearances. He did show some signs of promise when entirely healthy, but that has been rare in his pro career so far.
