The Trail Blazers have been at the forefront of drama this offseason with the never-ending Damian Lillard rumors. While Lillard’s future in Portland may be in doubt, one Blazer who isn’t going anywhere is Norman Powell.
Powell has agreed to a five-year contract with the Blazers worth $90 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.
The wing was traded to the Blazers midseason from the Raptors and has shown signs of promise alongside the team’s starry backcourt. Through 69 total games last season, Powell averaged 18.6 points while shooting 47.7% from the field and 41.1% from three.
It’s safe to say Powell stands a good chance of being a top secondary option for Portland for years to come.
