Cavaliers small forward Taurean Prince is set to undergo ankle surgery that is expected to end his season, according to Kelsey Russo of The Athletic.
Prince was acquired by the Cavs, along with center Jarrett Allen, in a Jan. 23 trade with the Brooklyn Nets. He has performed relatively well in his 29 games in Cleveland, averaging 10.1 points and 3.7 rebound in 29 appearances.
When healthy, he has served as the primary backup to starting rookie Isaac Okoro. That role will likely now return to Cedi Osman. Prince has one year and $13 million left on his contract.
