LaMelo Ball has been cleared to return to individual basketball activity, according to the Charlotte Hornets. Ball suffered a fractured right wrist injury on March 20 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Ball’s wrist injury was further evaluated today in New York City, as a CT scan showed that the wrist healed, which allowed him to have his cast removed.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there is optimism that the 19-year-old guard could return to the Hornets’ lineup in 7-10 days.
In 41 games prior to the injury, Ball is averaging 15.9 points, 6.1 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game, as he was in a strong position to run away with Rookie of the Year honors. If the rookie sensation closes out the season strong, however, then his chances of winning the award should still be fairly high.
