The Pacers attempted to pry Garrett Temple from the Bulls but Chicago wouldn’t play ball, J. Michael of The Indianapolis Star reports. Temple may be available in trade talks but the club has “no interest” in sending the wing to a division rival.
Temple, who is making $4.8 million in the final year of his contract, has played a regular role in the Bulls’ rotation, scoring 8.8 points per game.
Indiana wasn’t planning on making any major moves before the trade deadline, as they should get T.J. Warren and Caris LeVert back at some point, which will evaluate the squad internally.

- Spencer Dinwiddie is unlikely to return to the court this season, though several teams are interested in trading for the guard since they would retain his Bird Rights, Shams Charania of The Athletic relays. It was previously reported that the Nets made Dinwiddie available in trade talks.
- Kris Dunn is expected to make his Hawks debut before the end of March, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Dunn, who signed a two-year, $9.8 million contract this past offseason, underwent surgery to address an ankle issue back in December.
- Nate McMillan, who took over as the Hawks’ interim head coach, will have a shot to earn the head coaching gig long-term, GM Travis Schlenk told Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. “He’s certainly going to have the opportunity to be the permanent head coach,” Schlenk said, per Kirschner. “No doubt about it. You can certainly argue that he’s got the best chance because he’s here right now, and we’ll have the ability to work with him for the next three months. He’s going to have the opportunity to coach games. I don’t know that there’s necessarily anything that I need to see. He’s got a proven track record. He doesn’t need to prove to me that he can coach NBA basketball. I know that.”
