Knicks executive William Wesley is reportedly working the back channels with Bradley Beal to try to convince him to seek a trade to the Big Apple, ESPN’s Michael Kay hears (h/t Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News).
“World Wide Wes” is talking with some of Beals’ representatives, per the report. That would clearly be tampering, for the record.
Beal has both publicly and privately expressed a desire to stay with the Wizards long-term.
More NBA Trade Rumors
- If DeMarcus Cousins reaches free agency, he’d consider signing with the Heat, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press relays. The Rockets are parting ways with the big man either by trade or by waiving him, though he’ll play for them in the meantime.
- Toronto has a major void at center after watching Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka leave in free agency and while they’ve been rumored to be looking for a big man, it’s unlikely that they get involved in the Cousin sweepstake, Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports notes.
- The Celtics are in the market for a wing and big man and Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype examines potential trade targets. Eric Gordon is an intriguing option depending on Houston’s asking price. Boston has a $28.5 million trade exception from the Gordon Hayward deal, so adding salary wouldn’t be an issue.
