It’s the NBA season, so it’s time for another postponement announcement. Only this time, it has nothing to do with COVID-19.
Instead, the Detroit Pistons-Dallas Mavericks game scheduled for Wednesday in Dallas is being postponed because of inclement weather, as relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Texas has declared a state of emergency after a massive winter storm. Unusually cold temperatures and widespread blackouts have resulted.
Meanwhile, the Pistons also had their Monday night game against San Antonio postponed after four Spurs tested positive for COVID-19.
The NBA now has postponed more than 30 games. This is the first postponement unrelated to the virus. All games are expected to be made up in the second half of the schedule, due to be released within the next 7-10 days.
