The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be becoming accustomed to playing games into Overtime. They defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder again in Overtime, 114-113. This comes on the heels of defeating the Thunder in Overtime Monday night.
This win gives the Lakers six straight wins. Anthony Davis once again missed another game due to Achilles Tendinosis. The Lakers seemed to be struggling for a lot of this game. However, they were able to persevere with strong efforts from the entire team. Coach Frank Vogel explained how proud he is of his team and how deep they are roster-wise.
“We’ve got a deep team, a lot of weapons, a lot of ways we can hurt you down the stretch,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “They gave us all we could handle, especially in the first half of these games. But we kept grinding, stayed connected, believed in each other, and ground it out.”
Something to keep an eye out for is how the Lakers continue to use James moving forward. It could be time to get him a couple of rest games. Even though he stated that if he is available to play he will play. He has been logging 40 or more minutes the past three games. He has been playing some serious ball and the Lakers are on a winning streak. This is just something to monitor moving forward. However, the Lakers are playing at a high level and if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
