Brooklyn Nets newcomer Iman Shumpert should be ready to join his teammates by this weekend, according to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.
Shumpert is 6-foot-4 and signed with the Nets over the weekend to help with their defensive woes, which are reaching historic levels. He appeared in 13 games with the Nets last season, though this is an entirely different team.
This one boasts a healthy Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, as well as recent trade acquisition James Harden.
Shumpert, 30, had been working out in Atlanta as a free agent, hopeful of a return. He went unsigned as a free agent until this weekend.
A close friend of Irving, Shumpert was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2016 championship squad. He has also spent time with the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks.
