The Lakers have improved to 7-3 after a close one against the visiting Bulls, hanging on for 117-115 win. They did so without one of their big guns, Anthony Davis, who missed the game with an adductor strain. Davis should be back to face Houston on Sunday.
LeBron James is happy with the win but knows there is room for improvement. The Lakers are by no means perfect. They were coming off a loss to the Spurs.
“Through the first 10 games, I think we’ve played B, B-plus basketball, and that is absolutely OK,” James said. “We’re a team that added basically five pieces to the rotation, and we’re still learning each other. We’re getting accustomed to different lineups, playing different guys, and we’re playing pretty good basketball. We want to be better. That lets me know we have room to improve, which is a bright spot.”
There is plenty of basketball left to be played. The Lakers can be happy with a win over a Bulls team that is much-improved when compared to last season. However, the Lakers know that to reach the championship level there are tweaks that need to be made. Luckily this team has the personnel to get that accomplished.

- James led the way for the Lakers by pouring in 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field. James also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven assists
- Markieff Morris started for Davis. Morris scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including a 3-pointer.
- Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell each added 17 points apiece. Schroder did so in a starting role on 5-of-11 from the field. Harrell did so off the bench on 7-of-13 shooting. Harrell also grabbed 14 rebounds.
- Wesley Matthews has been big all season so far for the Lakers. Matthews scored 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-point range. He did all of his damage from the three-point stripe, along with knocking down two free throws.
