We normally stick to basketball at FortyEightMinutes.com, but when the Ohio State Buckeyes put on a performance as they did in the College Football Playoff semifinal, it’s hard to ignore. Justin Fields & Co. simply had their way with Clemson, winning 49-28.
The victory was that much sweeter having it come against Dabo Swinney, who ranked Ohio State No. 11 in USA Today’s Coaches Poll entering the playoffs. LeBron James was among those after the contest to have a question for the former national champion.
Swinney was asked by reporters about the ranking after the loss.
“I don’t regret any of that, and polls have nothing to do with motivation,” Swinney said, via ESPN. “Both teams were highly motivated to play.”
Ohio State will play Alabama in the National Championship on January 11.
