The Sixers will be without Joel Embiid in Friday night’s preseason game against the Pacers.
Embiid is dealing with an illness, as Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer relays. It is not COVID-19 related and the franchise is being cautious, opting to keep him in Philadelphia rather than traveling with the team.
Embiid impressed in 17 minutes of action during the Sixers’ first preseason game on Tuesday. He scored 18 points, adding three rebounds and two assists.
Dwight Howard, who played 17 minutes in his Sixers preseason debut, will get the start on Friday night.
