The Sixers are waiving Ryan Broekhoff and Derrick Walton Jr., per Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer (via Twitter).
Each player signed with Philadelphia on a one-year, minimum-salary deal last month, though neither had a guaranteed salary. The Sixers now have 18 players under contract, including SG Dakota Mathias and PF Paul Reed, who are each on two-way contracts.
Philadelphia can only carry 15 non-two-way deals, meaning they’ll have to make another cut before the season begins. Justin Anderson and Vincent Poirier will likely battle it out for the last roster spot. Poirer has a fully guaranteed contract, while Anderson does not.
