The Lakers have waived guard point guard Zavier Simpson, guard shooting guard Kevon Harris and forward Tres Tinkle to cut the roster to 16.
All three rookie signed Exhibit 10 training camp deals after going undrafted last month — Simpson out of Michigan, Harris out of Stephen F. Austin and Tinkle out of Oregon State.
An Exhibit 10 deal allows a player to earn $50,000 if they remain with the parent club’s G League affiliate for at least 60 days. That may be tough to do this year, though, as the South Bay Lakers aren’t expected to participate in the G League bubble next month.
The Lakers have 14 players on standard deals and two on two-way contracts.
None of the three players waived appeared in either of the Lakers’ two preseason wins over the Clippers.
