New York Knicks president Leon Rose is apparently in “win-now mode” and may have eyes for Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo, as relayed by Marc Berman of the New York Post.
Rose and the Knicks have plenty of players who could make a difference on their radar, including Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Chris Paul, according to Berman.
But a package for a younger star such as Oladipo may be more to Rose’s liking and prove to be a “higher priority,” Berman added.
Oladipo can be a free agent at the end of next season, and a recent report from The Athletic suggested that he may be looking to part ways with the Pacers before then. Oladipo has since downplayed those rumors.
“Those rumors on the internet, I don’t know where they’re coming from,” Oladipo said on an Instagram Live appearance. “I’m just focused on getting my knee right for next year.”
Berman also listed Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns as potential Knicks trade targets.
