The Miami Heat defeated the Orlando Magic 110-105. They just ended their three-game homestand undefeated with a 3-0 record. The Heat won their 28th game of the season and now sit at 28-22 overall. This was yet another close game down to the end for the Heat. They have been playing close games all season. Heat Center Bam Adebayo feels that playing in all these close games is preparing the Miami Heat for a deep run in the postseason. Adebayo spoke postgame about his theory.
“I don’t know if we just like dogfights,” Adebayo said. “I don’t know if we just like to make it interesting.”
Jimmy Butler led the Heat in his return to the lineup after missing the Heat’s last game. Butler scored 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting. Butler went 9-for-12 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists, and recorded two steals.
The Orlando Magic had a lot of turnovers this game and that led to them losing the game. The Magic had 20 turnovers to the Heat’s 11. That was the difference and Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosely spoke on this during his postgame interview.
“We turned it over,” Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said. “When it comes down to it, you’ve got to take care of the basketball. I loved our fight. I loved the fact that we were in it, in a great environment, on the road, against a tough team. But you’ve got to take care of the basketball.”
