Rounding up the latest NBA buzz surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers, including trade rumors and injury updates.
- Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert are both questionable for the Cavaliers’ matchup against the Pistons on Sunday. Cleveland is already without Kevin Love in the frontcourt because of a thumb injury. Detroit has several players questionable as well with rookie Jaden Ivey among those uncertain to play.
- Some around the league don’t believe the Cavaliers are looking to trade Cedi Osman, Sam Amico of Hoops Wire hears. Osman has been the subject of trade rumors over the past few years in Cleveland, though the wing has stepped up lately and provided some quality minutes for the team. Osman’s minutes and usage, however, would take a hit if LeVert re-enters the lineup.
- Many around the league are high on Evan Mobley, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, who recently said “it’s just a matter of time” before the Cavs’ big man has a breakout season and is considered one of the best power forwards in the NBA. “He can be better than me,” Antetokounmpo told Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com about Mobley. “I don’t see why he can’t. It’s up to him. I will always try to improve. Every day. But he has the skill set to be a very, very good player. He’s 7-feet tall. He can move really well. He can shoot. He is very smart. As you said, he watches tapes of other players, which is very, very good for a young player. If he takes this seriously, he is going to be great.”
