The Heat have now improved to 3-5 overall on the season. This may not be the start they wanted. However, this game could be the catalyst that propels the Heat to a winning streak. The Miami Heat defeated the defending NBA Champion Golden State in Miami. They defeated the Warriors 116-109. An interesting stat that stuck out for the Heat is they shot 20 for 20 from the free-throw line. That is tied for the second most in team history. Their record is when the Heat made 30 for 30 from the free-throw line in 1993 against the Boston Celtics.
Max Strus led the way for the Miami Heat. Strus scored 24 points on 8 for 17 shooting from the field. Strus also knocked down 4 for 10 shooting from the three-point line. Strus also grabbed a rebound and dished out two assists. He did all of this off the bench in 33 minutes of playing time.
Jimmy Butler had a big night for the Heat as well. Butler scored 23 points on 6 for 17 shooting from the field. Butler knocked down 2 for 7 from the three-point line. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists.
