The Cavaliers acquired Ricky Rubio last summer before eventually trading him away in the Caris LeVert deal at the trade deadline.
Rubio is a free agent this offseason and here’s a “strong belief” around the league that Cleveland will pursue a reunion with the point guard, according to Matt Moore of The Action Network.
There’s a strong belief that the Cavaliers will seek to re-sign injured guard Ricky Rubio after Rubio suffered an ACL tear midseason in the Cavs’ surprising play-in run. Sources are conflicted as to whether the Cavs really intend to re-sign Colin Sexton. Notably, Sexton is signed to Klutch Sports, the agency which “represents” LeBron James. Brandon Weems, James’ childhood friend and teammate, was promoted to assistant general manager this season.
Moore also hears conflicting reports on the team’s real intentions with Collin Sexton, who is a restricted free agent. Sexton has been linked to the Wizards and Pacers among other teams.
